CORE POWER

In this Mat Pilates class, concentration is the key element to connecting your mind and body. In order to work your body, you must be present with your mind. It is the mind that wills the body into action. Following the matwork principles of Joseph Pilates, which was built on the method of muscle control. All movements in this class are slow, controlled muscle movements using the body’s weight as resistance. This class concentrates on the “core” or “powerhouse” of the body, and then extending the initiated energy of the core out to the limbs. We build strength, elongate muscles, fluidity, precision, breath, imagination, intuition and integration into the comprehensive whole body. Each exercise employs every muscle from the fingertips to the toes. Paige will demonstrate beginner poses as well as more advanced techniques for all fitness levels.

Paige has been certified and teaching Mat Pilates and Yoga since 2003 and more recently certified to teach Aerial Yoga in 2019. After a long recovery from major back surgery in 2010, she began to utilize all of the tools she had learned along her journey and to rehabilitate her body back into a pain free, fully functioning mechanism. Upon more recent explorations on energy and how energy can get stuck inside the body from unprocessed trauma, she began to build this flow using even more modalities discovered on her path. This flow is ever changing as she evolves, just as life evolves. She wants to share with others the gifts she’s been gifted and opened up to put herself back into the driver’s seat of life, in hopes that others will find themselves more empowered as well.
